Village celebration on September 7th. left: just after the celebration in the church; right: on the square, in front of the beach and the fountain, the party, with traditional and modern music, drinks and grilled food and pastries

After obtaining her 1st level Open water diver certificate at the Divingpelion course, Kaat going for a dive at Ormos Vathoudi with Paris, diving instructor and owner of the diving centre.

After we have taken all measures for a secure wintering of Nehalinnia on the hard at Olympic Marine, and after a last check, Kaat removes the ladder: the final point on a failed sailing season ... in fact due to a new but broken electronic splitter!

Ormos Sounio, the anchorage on the foot of the Temple of Poseidon, where the skipper conveying Nehalinnia decided after a windy night on the 26th of July to stop the delivery! For us a great disillusion!

On the way back to Hortó, leaving the National Road for a picnic we made a stop at the Thermopylai, just before Lamia. In 480 B.C. at the Thermopylai pass Leonidas and his 300 Spartans were slaughtered without being able to stop the army of the Persian king Xerxes I. At the huge spring hot sulphur water is running: a healthy shower for some as we saw, but due to the smell not the best place for our lunch!

The temple of Poseidon, the god of the Sea

And then on the 10th of October the rain finally came .... but scarcely for less than two days .... little relieving the thirsty nature.

On a nice, sunny and warm Sunday in October, from Argalasti, down to Kalamos and Pao, and back to Argalasti

Along the beach, between Kalamos and Pao

The old monastery of Pao, now depending from the university of Volos

From Lefokastro, up to Argalasti, down to Kalamos, and back to Lefokastro , on a windy Sunday at the end of October ...

The kalderimi between Lefokastro and Argalasti: still in good condition and well maintained by the F.o.K.

Rough seas: the Pagasitikos kolpos near Kalamos on this windy Sunday

Approaching Lefokastro

Nice autumnal atmosphere in Horto ...

Horto: sunset

Still nice overday but already rather cool nights: the fireplace gives a cosy heat

In front of the village the small fisherboats are now lonely on their moorings ...
